The National Association of Health Underwriters has changed its name to the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, or NABIP.
The group has changed the name of its political action committee to the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals PAC, from the Health Underwriters Political Action Committee.
The Washington-based group was founded in 1930 and now represents about 100,000 agents, brokers, distributors, consultants and other professionals who work with products such as health insurance and employees.
The group has about 200 chapters.
Kelly Fristoe, NABIP's president, said the group changed its name partly because many members now sell products other than traditional health insurance.
