In 2025, Chukwudi Uraih restructured his fee-only RIA around a population the wealth management industry had largely overlooked: first-generation STEM and healthcare professionals carrying financial obligations to their immigrant families while building wealth for the first time. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Lampados Financial Group coined the term "brown tax" to describe those obligations and built its entire planning approach around them. The firm treats those transfers as a known line item and builds the rest of the financial plan around them. To reach this community, Chukwudi personally interviewed more than 50 first-generation professionals in Q4 2025 to better understand their financial pressures and blind spots. He turned that research into a free guide, "The 5 Mistakes First-Generation Professionals Make with Money," which gained traction across LinkedIn and led to a blog series and a book publishing on Amazon in June 2026.
