Members of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners elected Jon Godfread, the North Dakota insurance commissioner, to be their 2025 president Tuesday at a meeting in Denver.
Godfread was first elected to the North Dakota commissioner post in 2016. He won reelection this year without facing an opponent in the primary or in the general election.
He is 6 feet 10 inches tall, and he may be the world's tallest elected official, according to Guinness World Records.
NAIC members also elected Scott White, the Virginia insurance commissioner, to be president-elect; Elizabeth Kelleher Dwyer, the director of the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, to be vice president; and John Pike, the Utah insurance commissioner, to be secretary-treasurer.
