IMG Adds Coverage for U.S. Visitors With Health Problems

The policy is available to travelers under the age of 75.

IMG has a solution for clients trying to bring friends or relatives with health problems into the United States for a visit: travel medical insurance designed for people with pre-existing conditions.

The Santa Clara, California-based company last week introduced the USVisit-Pro policy, which can provide up to $250,000 in coverage for ordinary conditions for people under 70, and $30,000 in coverage for pre-existing conditions.

For people ages 70 through 74, the policy can provide up to $50,000 in ordinary coverage and $20,000 in coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Most travel medical insurance policies exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions altogether.

What It Means

People under age 75 who live outside the United States might have an easier time visiting your clients.

Product Details

The policy is aimed at people visiting the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas or U.S. territories from countries outside North America.

IMG is getting the insurance behind the product from its parent, SiriusPoint Specialty Insurance Corp.

Patients who have the coverage can use it to get in-network care from physicians, clinics and hospitals in the UnitedHealthcare PPO provider network.

The policy covers care from urgent care clinics and walk-in clinics without imposing a deductible or coinsurance requirement.

For other types of in-network care, the patient pays 20% of the bill.
