The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards said Thursday that registration is now open for those wishing to take the CFP exam, which will be administered from Nov. 2 to 9.

The number of CFP professionals in the United States has grown to more than 90,000, the standard setting body said.

The registration deadline for the November exam is Oct. 19, and discounted early bird registration is available through Sept. 7. Those wishing to take the exam can register here.

The March 2022 CFP exam will be updated to include new Principal Knowledge Topics — including the new Principal Knowledge Domain, Psychology of Financial Planning.

CFP Board announced in April that nearly any candidate now has the option to take the CFP exam either in person at a traditional brick-and-mortar Prometric test center or through a remote proctoring option for both the July and November exam testing windows.

The pass rate for the CFP exam held in July was 62%, CFP Board said Thursday.

Remote proctoring is an exam delivery method that allows candidates to take the CFP exam from home or a location of their choice.

Candidates who select the remote proctoring option must meet technology requirements.
