SEC Chief Gensler Appoints New Executive Team

Helvin rejoins the SEC from the House's Office of General Counsel, where she served as special litigation counsel.

She previously was counsel to the general counsel and a senior counsel in the Office of General Counsel's Appellate Group at the SEC. Before joining the SEC, Helvin was an associate at Robbins, Russell, Englert, Orseck, & Untereiner LLP. She also served as a law clerk to Judge Diana Gribbon Motz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Taking on the role of enforcement counsel is Tejal D. Shah. She serves as Gensler's principal advisor on matters involving the Division of Enforcement.

Shah joined the SEC in 2014 as a staff attorney in the New York Regional Office, where she conducted and led significant enforcement investigations and litigations. Prior to joining the SEC, she was an associate at the law firm of Cooley LLP.

Basmah Nada becomes Gensler's digital director, directing digital strategy for the SEC and Gensler. Her previous roles include as post production manager on Sen. Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Senate Democratic Media Center and the House Democratic Caucus, where she helped members of Congress develop and expand their digital presence.
