Finseca Names Suzy Jacobs Chief Operating Officer: Personnel Moves

Finseca — the organization formed by the merger of AALU and GAMA — has picked Suzy Jacobs to be its chief operating officer.

Jacobs previously was the senior vice president of business development and marketing at AALU. She's been with the AALU since 2017.

Jacobs has a bachelor's degree from Hobart and William Smith College.

Jacobs started out in publishing, as an ad rep at Women's Sports & Fitness Magazine. She later was a regional advertising manager at Inc. Magazine, national advertising director at TechCapital Magazine, a business development executive at Corporate Board Member, an account director at The Week, and publisher of Capitol File Magazine.

In other personnel moves news:

American International Group, New York, has named James Nash to be the next president and chief executive officer of AIG Japan Holdings, which is based in Tokyo.

Nash will succeed Robert Noddin, the current president and CEO of AIG Japan, in early 2021, AIG says.

Noddin plans to give up the CEO post, serve as the chairman of AIG Japan for about a year, and then retire, AIG says.

Nash started out at an accounting firm. He has been working for Guy Carpenter since 1985. He has been the chief executive officer of Guy Carpenter's international division since 2016.

The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pennsylvania, has promoted Frank Best to general counsel, insurance and corporate secretary, and Ann-Marie Mason to general counsel, asset management and broker/dealer.

Best has worked for Penn Mutual for 46 years and has written two insurance law books.

He has a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mason has been working for Penn Mutual since 2019, as a vice president.

Mason previously was vice president and counsel at FINRA. She also has worked as a senior counsel at MetLife.

Mason has a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a law degree from New York University. She is a member of the board of Listen To Our Voices, a non-profit organization that serves children and young adults.

LL Global, Windsor, Connecticut — the parent of LIMRA, LOMA and the Secure Retirement Institute — has hired John Carroll to lead its national accounts team.

He previously was head of intermediary client relations at Epoch Investment Partners.

Carroll has a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business from Rutgers University.

He started out on the annuity desk at Merrill Lynch, and he rose up to be co-head of the Merrill Lynch insurance group.

He also has served as president of Allianz Global Investors Distributors.
