Managers of HealthCare.gov are operating under the assumption that HealthCare.gov will still be in business Nov. 1.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency that oversees the public exchange enrollment and administration system, is seeking applications now from vendors that want to provide HealthCare.gov agent and broker training services for the open enrollment period for 2020 coverage.
The 2020 HealthCare.gov open enrollment period is set to start Nov. 1 and end Dec. 15.
CMS wants the training vendors to begin offering training as early as July 1, and no later than August.
Applications are due Monday.
CMS also offers its own HealthCare.gov agent and broker training.
In the past, the National Association of Health Underwriters, America's Health Insurance Plans and other organizations have served as HealthCare.gov producer training vendors.
