One benefits firm is buying another benefits firm.
WageWorks Inc., San Mateo, Calif., a company that administers benefit plans for large employers, says it has acquired Creative Benefits Inc., Vista Calif., a benefits administration firm that focuses on running plans for small and midsize employers.
Creative Benefits has a base of about 750 clients, WageWorks says.
The combined company will have a total of about 2,700 clients with 1.8 million plan members, WageWorks estimates.
Jody Dietel, president of Creative Benefits, will continue to run Creative Benefits, WageWorks says.
