The Pennsylvania State has finally eliminated the word "acting" in front of Joel Ario's title more than a year after he was nominated to be the state's insurance commissioner.

Ario, who was formerly Oregon insurance commissioner, was confirmed for his Pennsylvania post by a 50-0 vote before the state legislature adjourned for the summer.

Doug Furness, the Pennsylvania insurance department's director of legislative affairs, says Pennsylvania's legislature moves cautiously and "they took their time to get to know [Ario]."

Ario went to work in an acting capacity immediately after his June 12, 2007, nomination by Gov. Edward Rendell, D.
