Buckeye State officials are giving a company in their jurisdiction an invitation to discuss its promotional efforts.

The Ohio Department of Insurance has issued a notice of opportunity for hearing to Investors Union L.L.C., Medina, Ohio, officials say.

Regulators in Ohio and 6 other states have reported receiving allegations that an Investors Union unit, the Annuity Service Center, may have used misleading postcards and telephone interviews to gather annuity sales leads.

Investors Union has until Sept. 22 to request a hearing, officials say.

Representatives of the company were not immediately available for comment.
