Connecticut has unveiled a state Web site to help laid-off Lincoln National Corp. insurance employees find jobs with other insurers in the state.
The state’s Insurance Jobs Initiative is a response to job losses in Hartford resulting from the recent merger of Lincoln National, Philadelphia, with the Jefferson-Pilot Corp., Greensboro, N.C., according to a statement from the office of Gov. M. Jodi Rell.
In July, Lincoln announced it would cut 75 jobs at its Hartford location. The jobs will go to Greensboro, N.C., and Concord, N.H., during the next 5 months. Lincoln said at the time it hoped some of the 75 affected workers could be moved into other open positions in Hartford.
