MetLife Inc. has introduced a flexible disability insurance policy designed for employers with fewer than 500 employees.[@@]

Features include return-to-work support, an option that lets employers choose duration limits for certain types of benefits, and an optional terminal illness benefit that provides 100% of pre-disability earnings for up to 12 months for employees who are terminally ill, according to MetLife, New York.

An organ donor benefit for short term disability that provides an increased benefit when the disability absence is the result of donating an organ, MetLife says.

The return-to-work benefits include help with moving expenses for employees who need to move to cope with their disabilities and a family care benefit for employees who must arrange for care for children or older relatives when they return to work.
