IRS Offers Disaster Relief for California Wildfire Victims

As often happens following extreme natural disasters, the IRS has granted extensions for taxpayers who have been impacted by the California wildfires that began burning January 7, 2025.  These impacted taxpayers now have until Oct. 15, 2025, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments that were due between January 7 and October 15, 2025.  Individuals who reside or have a business in Los Angeles County qualify for the relief.  The extension applies to federal income tax returns and payments that would otherwise be due by April 15.  The relief also applies for quarterly payroll and excise tax returns and various business filing requirements.  For more information on tax-related disaster relief, visit Tax Facts Online.
