Wells Fargo’s head of advisor recruiting and post-acquisition integrations, Brendan Krebs, has left the firm to be managing director of PNCI Wealth Advisors and an executive vice president at PNC Investments.

The news of his departure, first reported by AdvisorHub, was confirmed via email by a spokesperson. Krebs announced his new role Monday afternoon on LinkedIn.

James Craven, head of national sales at Wells Fargo, has taken over the role until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Krebs’ LinkedIn profile shows he joined Wells Fargo Advisors nearly 10 years ago, although he had only stepped into the advisor recruiting leadership role in January. He did not respond to a request for comment sent on the platform.

Sol Gindi, head of Wells Fargo Advisors, said in a statement to ThinkAdvisor that the firm believes it has the “best leaders in the business who are spreading the word about why Wells Fargo is the right place for advisors to build their practices.”

“Year over year, our financial advisor hiring is up more than 50%, and directly tied to the strength of our leaders across our markets,” Gindi said. “I’m looking forward to our continued momentum with James at the helm.”

Gindi noted that the firm has seen continued strong hiring of advisors with more than $1 million in production, including the addition last week of a pair of former Morgan Stanley advisors with a $400 million book of business.
