In 2023, the American Endowment Foundation established its Philanthropic Council to grant $1 million over the next five years to charities and other organizations in the Northeast Ohio communities the firm calls home.

Within a year, the council awarded two $100,000 grants with more to come.

In recognition of these efforts, the American Endowment Foundation is now a member of the Think Advisor Luminaries Class of 2024 in the category of Charitable Giving/Philanthropy Firm Award – Corporate Social Responsibility.

To better understand its efforts, CEO Ronald Ransom and Paula Hogan, the firm’s Chief People and Culture Officer, recently sat down with Think Advisor Contributor Bobbie Turner to discuss charitable giving and philanthropy.

Ransom and Hogan also discuss:

> What efforts went into creating the Philanthropic Council;
> How the firm selected the first two grant recipients and how those decisions will guide its future giving; and
> The role financial advisory firms can take to help their local communities through charitable giving.
