Morningstar this week published its compilation of the best index exchange-traded funds and mutual funds for investors to consider buying in 2024. The firm's analysts have given them their highest medalist rating, Gold, and think they will outperform in a full market cycle. The bond index funds on the list all land in one of Morningstar's broad bond categories and have an analyst-assigned percentage equaling at least 80% as of Oct. 11.
