The wealth advisory team of James Oberheide and Brandon Schlesinger, who managed $2.2 billion in client assets at Morgan Stanley, joined competitor Merrill Private Wealth Management on Thursday.
The Oberheide-Schlesinger Group, founded in 2007 and supported by Dana Carbonneau and Kathryn Krauskopf, works from Chicago and Charlotte, North Carolina, according to Merrill.
Oberheide brings over 30 years of experience, including more than 17 with Morgan Stanley, according to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's BrokerCheck database. Schlesinger has been registered with Morgan Stanley for nearly 19 years, according to BrokerCheck, although his LinkedIn profile indicates he was with the firm for 21 years.
Oberheide's LinkedIn profile, which hasn't been updated to reflect the move, indicates he was a Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management managing director and private wealth advisor leading the team in advising affluent families on managing significant wealth.
