Investors look to various sources for stock picks: trusted advisors, work colleagues and friends, and ideas they find on financial websites, investment newsletters and YouTube channels. Morningstar provides investors with stock picks from the firm's analysts, from one of its indexes and from its database by using a variety of screens. From time to time, it also sources stock ideas from the portfolios of the best fund managers, according to investment specialist Susan Dziubinski. In a new blog post, Dziubinski lists the most popular stocks among Morningstar's list of the best investors as of their most recent portfolios. These investors are actively managed funds that land in Morningstar's U.S. large-value, U.S. large-blend or U.S. large-growth categories. At least one of each fund's share classes earns a Morningstar medalist rating of gold with 100% analyst coverage. And the funds hold 100 or fewer stocks as of their most recently reported portfolios. Dziubinski reported that 13 separate fund portfolios passed the screen:
Analysts aggregated the portfolios together to find the 10 most popular stocks (as determined by portfolio concentration and number of funds that own the stock) across all 13 fund portfolios.
