Raymond James recently recruited a Las Vegas-based team of seven financial advisors to its employee advisor channel, Raymond James & Associates.

The Takahashi Retirement Group comes to Raymond James from Morgan Stanley, where the advisors managed about $1.3 billion in client assets. They will operate as part of Raymond James & Associates’ Las Vegas branch, according to the announcement, with a focus on serving a diverse range of clients, including corporate executives, families and retirees.

The group’s lead advisor and former Morgan Stanley managing director, Nick Takahashi, cited Raymond James & Associates’ “client and advisor centric ethos combined with vast resources” as a primary motivator for the change.

Before an 11-year stint at Morgan Stanley, Takahashi began his career with Wachovia Securities. Joining Takahashi in the move are fellow advisors James Zapotocky, Joshua Yocam, Luka Vasiljevic, Michael Ortega, Stephen Ellingsen and Sean Tsaconas.

Zapotocky will become a senior vice president of wealth management, having worked previously at Wells Fargo before moving to Morgan Stanley in 2013. He cited Raymond James’ technology platforms and advisor services as additional motivators for the jump from Morgan Stanley.
