Retirement is commonly talked about as a money issue. How much does one need to save before they can retire with confidence? How can clients invest during retirement to ensure their money lasts as long as needed? But, as J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Sharon Carson shares on the latest episode of ThinkAdvisor’s Ask the Retirement Expert podcast series, there’s a lot more to retirement than dollars and cents.

Carson, who is an executive director and retirement strategist at J.P. Morgan, says retirement also involves big behavioral and lifestyle considerations. There are also questions to be asked about future health care needs, caregiving responsibilities and growing longevity projections.

Speaking with ThinkAdvisor senior reporter and podcast host John Manganaro, Carson addresses these and other key topics during the episode, including:

  • New takeaways from J.P. Morgan’s 2024 Guide to Retirement.
  • What married couples must consider when claiming Social Security and enrolling in Medicare.
  • How Roth-style accounts can help manage tax liabilities in retirement and more.
