Parallel Advisors announced Monday the appointment of Fidelity alum David Canter to its board of directors.
Canter is the first outside board member to be hired by the $7.5 billion RIA, according to the announcement, and he's tasked with providing growth-focused insight and guidance to Parallel's executes.
C.J. Rendic, Parallel Advisors' CEO, said the appointment reflects the firm's "next phase of development," one which will benefit from Canter's significant experience in the registered investment advisor industry.
Canter was previously the head of Fidelity's RIA segment, a role he occupied for five years before stepping down in July 2022. From there, Canter moved to Bluespring Wealth Partners, where he was president for about a year before pivoting to support the firm as a strategic advisor.
