A little over a quarter into the year, Bob Doll, Crossmark Global Investments' CEO and chief investment officer, considers it too early or too close to call how his predictions for 2024 will fare. Only two of his 10 predictions appear to be heading in the right direction, while the other eight appear uncertain, he said in a note Monday. "We are in a high-risk, highly valued bull market driven by momentum," he wrote, echoing his previous commentaries. "Predicting the end of a momentum run is a fool's game. Equity investors should focus on earning predictability, earnings persistence and good cash flow generation in equity selection." In the leader of the faith-based firm's view, various factors that have sustained the economy despite the aggressive Federal Reserve rate hikes will only delay rather than avert a recession.
