Online investing platform Merrill Edge appeared to be experiencing a technical glitch at least briefly late Tuesday morning, social media posts and data indicate.

Outage monitoring site Downdetector logged 150 problem reports about Merrill by 10:40 a.m. Eastern time, although the numbers had fallen sharply about 15 minutes later.

Most reports on Downdetector indicated a problem with the online brokerage.

Meanwhile, on X, formerly Twitter, users complained about their efforts to use the Merrill Edge brokerage.

"First day of market volatility in months and @MerrillEdge site goes down," one user on X posted.

"The app is glitchy today for sure," another responded. Yet another responded that the desktop version was as well.

A spokesperson for Merrill parent Bank of America didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
