Three new members have been appointed to the board of directors of the nonprofit FINRA Investor Education Foundation, while the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's chief economist, Jonathan Sokobin, has been named board chair.
The three new board members are Jason Fichtner, the chief economist at the Bipartisan Policy Center and former Social Security Administration official; Ellen Frawley, a partner at the GMMB agency; and Paul Roye, a retired former executive with Capital Research & Management Co.
According to the board's announcement, Sokobin has been a longtime collaborator with the FINRA Foundation in his role as FINRA's chief economist and head of the Office of Regulatory Economics and Market Analysis. As the new board chair, he will lead his fellow directors in overseeing the management of the the foundation's operations.
