RFG Advisory announced Wednesday a collaboration and technology integration with Nitrogen, aimed at supporting RFG advisors' enterprise growth and client engagement efforts.

As Shannon Spotswood, RFG Advisory's president, told ThinkAdvisor, Nitrogen is the latest addition to RFG's technology stack, which has been assembled over the past eight years to provide growth-minded advisors with a comprehensive suite of practice management solutions.

Via Nitrogen's platform, RFG's more than 100 advisors gain client-facing risk alignment tools, portfolio comparison capabilities, proposal generation support, client check-in solutions and customized portfolio management tools. They also get what Spotswood called "concierge-level trading services" that allow advisors to refocus their time away from portfolio management work in favor of higher-value tasks.

"Everything that we do at RFG is centered around providing advisors with technology and solutions that help them deepen their client relationships, grow organically and scale their businesses to create enterprise value," Spotswood emphasized.

She said the choice to work with Nitrogen was a fairly easy one to make. The conversations about collaboration have been ongoing for several years, Spotswood said, and more concentrated work has unfolded over the past 12 to 18 months.

"We knew we wanted to go with a technology partner that not only meets our high standards but exceeds them," Spotswood added. "A strong client experience is a powerful competitive advantage, and with Nitrogen, our advisors are able to boldly embrace the future of personalization."

Stepping back, Spotswood said that both her firm and the broader independent advisory industry are undergoing an unprecedented amount of change and evolution — especially when it comes to maintaining high levels of organic growth. She suggested that advisors on the RFG platform who are using all the tech tools at their disposal are enjoying an annual organic growth rate higher than 19% — far above the averages seen in industry research.
