Boards of NAIFA & Society of Financial Professionals OK Merger

NAIFA members will get access to FSP's specialty newsletters and programming, and FSP members will get access to NAIFA's education resources.

The board of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals announced Tuesday that they have approved the groups’ previously announced merger agreement.

NAIFA has already closed on a previously announced merger agreement with Life Happens.

NAIFA said the combined group will be known as NAIFA.

The Society of Financial Service Professionals will operate as the professional development wing of NAIFA. Life Happens will be NAIFA’s public education wing.

Three Society of Financial Service Professionals officers and one from Life Happens will serve on the 2024 board, NAIFA said.

Kevin Mayeux, NAIFA’s CEO, has said that the affiliation should help make Society of Financial Service Professionals’ education and training programs available to a broader base of professionals.

NAIFA members will get access to FSP’s specialty newsletters and programming, such as Certified Financial Planner programming, and Society of Financial Service Professionals  members will get access to NAIFA’s webinars, publications, advocacy programs, professional education programs and continuing education programs, according to NAIFA.
