The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards elected Elizabeth Miller, a certified financial planner, as its 2024 board chair-elect, the CFP Board said Wednesday.
Miller founded Summit Place Financial Advisors, an independent Securities and Exchange Commission-registered advisor in Summit, New Jersey, and serves as its president. Her firm provides personalized investment management and financial planning to families and individuals.
She joined the CFP Board as a director in 2020 and is a member of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning's Campaign Development Committee. (The CFP Board is a 2023 ThinkAdvisor LUMINARIES award finalist.)
"Liz is a remarkable leader whose contributions to the profession are substantial," Dan Moisand, board of directors chair, said in a statement, pointing to the "wealth of experience she brings to the role."
Before establishing Summit Place Financial Advisors, Miller was a principal owner of investment management services firm Trevor Stewart Burton & Jacobsen. Miller started her career as a mergers and acquisitions analyst for The First Boston Corp. and then became an associate portfolio manager for Oppenheimer Mutual Funds.
She founded Summit Place Financial Advisors in 2008 to focus on the complex financial needs of multi-generational families.
