Investment strategists have issued mixed views on where financial markets are headed in 2023, with several projecting continued volatility early in the year and eventual strengthening. Varying expectations for markets may be reflected in those working directly with clients. A new InspereX 2023 Advisor Outlook Survey found that 49% of financial advisors see stocks rising at least 10% next year; 25% expect a flat market; and 26% anticipate it will decline at least 10%. "While many advisors are bullish on stocks in 2023 and optimistic about moderating inflation, their views on a continuation of the inverted Treasury yield curve indicate that the first half of the year could be bumpy," InspereX President David Rudd said.
