Automated global electronic broker Interactive Brokers says it will start overnight trading hours on the IBKR Eos ATS today, allowing clients to trade select U.S. ETFs 23½ hours a day, five days a week.

Interactive Brokers clients "can now react immediately to market-moving news and trade at almost any time," the firm explained, and clients in Asia will have access to U.S. equity markets during their trading day.

"Global investors need to respond to market-moving news whenever it happens, not just during regular U.S. market hours," Steve Sanders, Interactive Brokers EVP for marketing and product development, said in a statement. "With overnight trading hours on IBEOS, our individual and institutional clients now have greater flexibility when to trade and can take advantage of investment opportunities around the clock."

The list of the 24 widely held U.S. ETFs that can be traded from 8 p.m. ET to 3:30 a.m. ET, with the week's first session starting on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET and the last session ending Friday at 3:30 a.m. ET, are:
