A new bill, H.R. 9109, could provide $250 million in federal funding over four years for grief support training and outreach efforts.
The Grief Resilience Investment and Education Fund Act bill would provide $50 million for public education about grief; $150 million for organizations that support grieving children and adults; and $10 million for grief-related research.
The bill could also provide $40 million in grants for entities, including for-profit entities, that can run bereavement care programs or help teach others how to respond to people affected by grief.
