Faisa Stafford announced last week that she has stepped down from the Life Happens CEO post to deal with a heart condition.
Stafford, who has worked for the Arlington, Virginia-based financial services outreach group since 2003, ran the day-to-day operations for about 15 years, and served as the CEO since January 2020, announced the move in a letter to the Life Happens team that was posted on LinkedIn.
"I had hoped that, with time, my heart would allow me to continue working, but it's been made clear that I need to prioritize my health to get better for myself and moved loved ones," Stafford said. "I urge you to continue to beating the financial security drums and providing solutions to people in need, because what you do is essential for many."
John Flatley, the president of Association Management Strategies, is now Life Happens' interim CEO.
Life Happens' Life Insurance Awareness Month campaign starts Sept. 1. The new spokesperson is Roselyn Sánchez, a singer, songwriter and actor from Puerto Rico.
