Commodities have finally awakened from their long hibernation. As the world emerged from the pandemic, prices for metals, oil, natural gas and agricultural products rose, and then came Russia's attack on Ukraine. The Biden administration has banned imports of Russian oil and natural gas; the Kremlin has countered by limiting exports. Absent an end to the conflict, upward pressure on prices is likely to continue. ETF Database has published a list of commodity ETFs trading in the U.S., which track the price of a commodity or basket of commodities. They can serve as a vehicle for investing in commodities. See the gallery for the 10 best-performing commodity ETFs, excluding leveraged and inverse funds. Assets are as of market close on March 15.
