Advisors often find themselves pulled in several directions at once. They must keep their clients happy. They must allocate time for prospecting. They need to interact with their team so that everyone feels valued. The area where financial advisors fall down is personal relationships. As my career in the industry progressed, I wondered if all managers had three things in common: a Montblanc pen, a Rolex watch and an ex-spouse! Put another way, your job may be stressful, but it's important to show appreciation for the home team, the person who helps you through life's difficult moments and provides balance. Your success is due to the belief and support of many people. Don't forget the important person at home. Valentine's Day is Feb. 14. This year, it's a Monday. What's your plan?
