'Tis the week before Christmas, and I'm still at work,
The town is abuzz, but my job I can't shirk.
I still work from home, it's been almost two years,
We got the vaccine, but omicron stokes fears.
Within my home office, I really wear pants,
When markets are up, I do my victory dance.
A client called up; I knew there'd be trouble,
He left three advisors in a pile of rubble.
I'm upset about fees, he started to say,
Stocks always go up, so why must I pay?
Markets have cycles — this one's long, I'll admit,
But the bear will arrive, and we all will get hit.
You pay for advice, because risk is the reason
We allocate assets to weather each season.
I do not need bonds, 'cause fixed income is boring,
With interest rates low, my free cash is snoring.
It's equities, baby! That's where I should be,
The market is soaring, so why pay a fee?
Investing is easy; advice is for Muppets.
I'll buy these six stocks and be loaded like Buffett.
Buy Facebook, now Meta!
Buy Apple, it's betta!
Buy Amazon, buy Netflix,
Buy Alphabet and Tesla!
It all sounds so simple, just pick the right flavor,
But trends and tastes change, they will go out of favor.
The thousands of stocks make the market a whole,
I consider them all when I'm setting a goal.
