The Financial Planning Association has canceled its annual conference, which was to be held Sept. 22-24 in Columbus, Ohio, due to concerns over the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and the surge of the delta variant.

"FPA's first priority is the health, safety, and well-being of our attendees, staff, partners, and all those who make a conference like this possible," the group said in a statement on its website. "We recognize this news will be disappointing, but we believe it is the right decision."

Those already registered will receive a full refund, FPA said, noting that the group "will work to make some of the planned sessions, including keynote presentations, available virtually on-demand — and free — for any member to access."

FPA chapters still holding events this fall across the country are listed here. FPA said the list will be updated as new information becomes available.
