Equitable has hired Stephanie Shields to be head of its employee benefits business.
The New York-based company's benefits business provides life, disability, dental, vision and supplemental health insurance plans for employees at small and medium-sized employers.
Shields previously was senior vice president, broker sales, at Aflac. She also has worked as a marketing consultant at Willis Towers Watson, and later as a vice president of voluntary solutions at Cigna Corp.
She has a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a master's degree in business from Drexel University in Chicago.
