Finseca has hired Maggie Seidel to be senior vice president of public affairs and marketing. She will help the Washington-based group promote the value of life and annuity agents and other financial professionals.
Seidel previously served as a senior advisor and policy director for Krisi Noem, the governor of South Dakota. She joined Noem's staff in 2019.
"Financial security professionals do noble work, and for too long the profession has been caricatured by a select few." Seidel said in a statement. "I look forward to telling the whole story so that more Americans see this profession as a beacon for American financial and retirement security."
From 2010 through 2015, she worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Neb.; Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Va.; and Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J., according to LegiStorm.
Before that she served as an assistant vice president at the Consumer Bankers Association, a senior public relations and media strategist at the Charles Koch Institute, and then as a vice president of public affairs at the American Insurance Association and the American Property Casualty Insurance Association.
Seidel has a bachelor's degree in political science from Villanova University, a master's degree in elections and campaign management from Fordham University, and a master's degree in economics from George Mason University. While Seidel was in college, she was a Division I softball player.
