Nationwide has picked Frank Spencer to be the new leader of life sales distribution.
Spencer previously was the head of the life brokerage general agency sales at the Columbus, Ohio-based insurer.
Spencer has a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a master's degree in management from The American College.
He started out in underwriting at Allstate before moving over to Nationwide.

Cassidy will succeed Dave Castellani, who is retiring at the end of this month.
Cassidy began working for New York Life in 2018 and has been a senior vice president at the company. He has a bachelor's degree in computer mathematics from Long Island University-Southampton campus.
He worked in information technology at companies such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Och-Ziff Capital Management before going to work for New York Life.
