U.S. COVID-19 pandemic numbers continued to improve last week, raising the possibility that, at least for now, social distancing efforts and the new COVID-19 vaccination programs could be getting the pandemic under control.
Members of the Data Strategy and Execution Workgroup, part of the White House COVID-19 team, have published the new pandemic intensity tracking numbers in their latest set of weekly state profile reports.
While former President Donald Trump was in office, the workgroup distributed the weekly COVID-19 reports to state officials but did not make the reports available to the public. The workgroup has now started posting the reports, and a national version of the reports, at Beta.HealthData.gov.
The Biden administration's third weekly set of White House Coronavirus COVID-19 Team reports provides data but no interpretation.
