Charles Schwab's $22 billion purchase of TD Ameritrade — including its RIA channel — unfolded throughout the year. Key TD Ameritrade executives like Dani Fava, Tom Nally and Skip Schweiss departed, and they continue to make news wherever they land.
But other firms, like Envestnet, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, Orion, State Street, Vanguard and a host of others, made big moves in 2020, as well as industry executives such as Noreen Beaman, Ron Carson, Eric Clarke, Michael Kitces and Mark Tibergien.
