AIG Life & Retirement Expands Role of Todd Solash: Personnel Moves

MassMutual, Cigna, Triple-S and Centene also have personnel moves news.

AIG Life & Retirement — an arm of American International Group Inc. — says Todd Solash is getting an expanded role.

Solash has been CEO of the AIG unit’s individual retirement business. Now he will oversee the unit’s life insurance business as well.

Solash has a bachelor’s degree in finance and chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Before moving to AIG, he worked in risk management and product development at Jefferson National, as a partner at Oliver Wyman, and as head of the individual annuity business at AXA US.

AIG is a multiline insurer based in New York. The company recently announced plans to split its life and retirement business from its property and casualty insurance business.

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has hired Regina Heyward to be head of supplier diversity, a new position

Heyward previously was senior vice president and head of supplier diversity at Wells Fargo & Company.

She has a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a law degree from North Carolina Central University.

She’s the vice chair of the board of Disability:IN, chair of the audit committee at the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the nominating committee at the Institute for Supply Management.

Cigna Corp., a health insurer and health care services company based in Bloomfield, Connecticut, has announced six top-level executive changes::

Centene Corp., a health insurer based in St. Louis, has picked Brent Layton to succeed Kenneth Burdick as executive vice president, markets, products, international, and chief business development officer.

Burdick plans to retire in January.

Layton has been Centene’s executive vice president and chief development officer.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia.

Triple-S Management Corp., a health insurer based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, says Juan José Román-Jiménez plans to retire from his position as the company’s chief financial officer.

Triple-S has hired an executive search firm to identify suitable candidates for the CFO role. The company hopes to complete the CFO selection process by June 30, 2021.
