Swiss Re Names Chris Behling Life & Health Hub Head: Personnel Moves

Swiss Re has named Chris Behling hub head for its Life & Health Americas unit. Behling took over from Jeff Katz, who retired Sept. 30, after 38 years in insurance and 10 years at Swiss Re. (Related: Northwestern Mutual Moves 6 Up: Personnel Moves) Behling has been head of life and health underwriting at the Life & Health Americas unit. Behling has a bachelor's degree in economics from Albion College and a master's degree in theology from Harvard University. He got his start in financial services as a senior consultant at Princeton Consultants. He later was a vice president for strategy fulfillment at AXA, and the founder of LifeSource, a national insurance distributor. He has also been president of health and wellness at Hooper Holmes and a national accounts executive at AXA U.S. He is the co-inventor of a patented method for adjusting the rate of return on an investment to reflect changes in the investor's health. In other personnel moves news: Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., Lincoln, Nebraska, has hired one new employee and promoted four officers to new positions. Ameritas has hired Brian Strasser to be second vice president – transition for the individual division agency and advisor team. Strasser previously was a vice president with Securities America. Strasser has a bachelor's degree in finance and banking and a master's degree in business from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Ameritas also has promoted: David Voelker to senior vice president – transformation office, from vice president – information technology. Voelker has a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Kentucky. Haifeng Wang to vice president – actuarial, from second vice president – actuarial. Wang has a bachelor's degree in finance from Renmin University in Beijing and a master's degree in energy and mineral economics from Pennsylvania State University. She holds fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) professional designations. Daryl Bell to vice president – actuarial for the individual division, from second vice president – actuarial. Bell has a bachelor's degree and a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He holds the FSA and MAAA professional designations. Shannon Berry to second vice president – practice management for the individual division, from director – sales training and education. She has a bachelor's degree in management from Bellevue University. She holds the fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designations Standard Insurance Company, Portland, Oregon, has hired Alyssa Zabloudil to be an assistant vice president and actuary. Zabloudil previously was a vice president and actuary with Mutual of Omaha. Zabloudil has a bachelor's degree in statistics from Northwest Missouri State University. She holds the FSA and MAAA professional designations.
