The board of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America says Andrew McMahon will take over from Deanna Mulligan as the company's chief executive officer Oct. 1. (Related: Andrew McMahon to Lead Guardian: Personnel Matters) Mulligan will be the company's chairman until the end of the year and then retire, the company said. Guardian first announced the shift in May. Mulligan has been working for Guardian since 2008, and she's served as the company's CEO since July 2011. McMahon started out at McKinsey & Company. He later was an executive vice president at AXA U.S. He has been working for Guardian in 2017 as a customer development executive. He became the company's president in November 2019.
