With low interest rates and market volatility on their minds, investors — especially retirees — are turning to financial advisors about what they should do with their portfolios and if they should shift their withdrawal rates.

To discuss how advisors can best help clients manage volatility and longevity during COVID-19, ThinkAdvisor is hosting a free webcast at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 27.

The event's keynotes speakers are Michael Finke, Ph.D and CFP, of the American College of Financial Services; and David Blanchett, Ph.D., CFP and CFA, head of Retirement Research for Morningstar's Investment Management Group.

Finke and Blanchett will review, for instance, how buffer assets can impact retirement income success and why retirement specialists now are taking a more nuanced view of "safe" initial withdrawal rates.

They'll also examine the topic of optimal equity allocations in terms of both different holding periods and risk-tolerance levels. In addition, the idea of segmenting assets into cash, portfolio and annuity buckets will be discussed.

Please join us for what promises to be a highly informative look at how retirees and other investors are responding to market movement during COVID-19 and what advisors can do to best help these clients and their portfolios in the context of heightened volatility and low returns.
