Some companies in and around the insurance industry are still hiring, in spite of COVID-19-related disruption.

Here's a look at three companies that say they have openings.

Centene Corp.

This St. Louis-based health insurer is best known for its Medicaid plans and its Affordable Care Act public exchange plans.

Centene has most of its 57,000 employees working at home. The ones who are still working in Centene's offices are each getting a $750 one-time appreciation payment, the company says.

Centene says it's working to fill about 2,000 open positions around the country.

"The company has continued to hold job fairs virtually, with six virtual job fairs held last month, and two more planned in the coming weeks," Centene says.

Centene posts information about openings here.

Sitel Group

This Miami-based customer service call center company has about 80,000 employees and says it's planning to hire about 10,000 more employees for work-at-home jobs.

Some of Sitel Groups's clients are insurance companies. In October, for example, the company said it was hiring associates to support "one of the most well-known insurance and financial services providers in the U.S."

DaVita Kidney Care

DaVita Inc. is a Denver-based company that provides kidney dialysis services for about 207,000 people in the United States.

The company says it expects to hire about 15,000 people this year.

Some of the open positions are for corporate roles related to insurance. Many are for people who can help people getting dialysis understand how to get their health insurers to pay for dialysis.
