The board of FBL Financial Group Inc. has picked Daniel Pitcher to succeed Jame Brannen as the company's chief executive officer. Brannen has announced plans to retire from his post as CEO of the West Des Moines, Iowa-based company in early 2020. Pitcher has been with FBL since 1998, and he has been the chief operating officer for the company's property and casualty insurance companies since 2011. Earlier, worked in P&C and information services positions at FBL. He previously spent 14 years at Nationwide/Allied Insurance. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Drake University, and the Fellow, Life Management Institute, professional designation.
