Each year, Envestnet | PMC & Investment Advisor magazine showcase the talents of the industry's top active asset managers Recently, the 2019 winners of the Asset Manager Awards received their awards and discussed their organizational structures, investment philosophies and more during the 2019 Envestnet Advisor Summit in Austin.
How do these active portfolio managers consistently deliver alpha while minimizing beta for financial advisors and their investor clients?
As Envestnet's research team described Brown Advisory, which won an award for its Large Cap Growth Strategy, "The edge if the strategy lies within the team." The team has a strong culture, and its incentive arrangement includes a portion of equity ownership for every employee.
"The most important differentiator is that we are employee owned. We are a partnership," said Ken Stuzin, portfolio manager at Brown.
