Members of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) are heading to San Diego to start their 89th annual convention Saturday.
The Washington-based group represents about 100,000 agents and brokers at the U.S. Capitol, at federal regulatory agencies, and in state capitals.
One sign of how much the Affordable Care Act (ACA), moves by the administration of President Donald Trump, and other forces have changed NAHU members' lives is this: no traditional major medical issuer other than Health Net, an arm of Centene Corp., is on the NAHU convention sponsor list.
The convention's sole top-level sponsor is Aliera Healthcare, an Atlanta-based organization that markets health care cost sharing ministry programs and supplemental health insurance benefits.
Aliera was also a gold-level for the Inter-Company Marketing Group 2019 annual conference, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
