Hearsay Systems, which provides the Hearsay Advisor Cloud for the financial services industry, has announced the appointment of Donna Prlich as chief business officer.

Prlich comes to Hearsay from Pentaho, part of Hitachi Group, where she most recently led the data integration and analytics product portfolio as chief product officer. She began her Pentaho tenure building the product and solutions marketing team during the company's transition from providing open-source business intelligence tools to the middle market to a big data integration and analytics leader serving large enterprises.

Prlich brings experience in delivering products and solutions to market that capitalize on big data and analytics to solve customer pain points. In her new role, she will be responsible for global strategic business initiatives, marketing and partnerships, as well as the company's flagship Hearsay Social business.

Prior to Pentaho, Prlich held roles at Karmasphere, one of the first big data analytics players, Actuate and Sun Microsystems. She holds a B.A. in social sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.

"Anyone who meets Donna immediately understands the value she adds," Clara Shih, Hearsay CEO and founder, said in a statement. "She has an admirable grasp of data, analytics and customers, and is an incredible leader. I'm thrilled to welcome her to the Hearsay executive team. She will play a critical role leading our team internally as well as working closely with our customers to deliver on the immense data and digital Advisor Actions opportunity before us."
